This weekend, activists in Uganda - a country where homosexuality is punishable by death - held their first Pride.

This is the epitome of courage. I have no other words.

this is making me tear up holy shit

This makes me soo fucking proud most of us in places like Nigeria and Uganda especially northern Nigeria, the punishment by law is getting stoned to death if you show any signs of being gay. This makes me sad that Me and thousands of others can’t be themselves but still, this is so FUCKING beautiful I am proud of the people of my African continent!

I just want to make it clear that the photo was taken, and the first Ugandan Pride was held, in 2012. Five years later they’re still celebrating Pride. Despite the fact that they face police raids and arrests, they’ve made this an annual event.

This is heroic

how the fuck am i still losing my mind over you ? FUCK

how to get over the signs

Folks keep asking me over and over again how to get over people they’ve dated or befriended or otherwise used to know. Personally, transition is not something I struggle with, so I can’t relate, but for others it’s apparently more than a bit hard. My observation is that a great way to get over the signs is to either take their personality traits and apply them to great use for yourself or do completely the opposite of how that sign stereotypically acts. The key is to take on the traits of the positive signs (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius) and do the opposite of how the negative signs act (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces). I’m a strong believer in the fact that you can learn from everyone, friend or foe, and as such, this convergence of forces that you had with your ex happened to teach you something about yourself.

Here are the examples:

how to get over an aries: get into your best physical shape ever. walk, lift weights, sweat, exercise. it gives you something to focus on, makes you feel alive, pumps you up, it’s something positive and you get some attention from other people, which is nice

how to get over a taurus: don’t blame; nearly all blame is shared and focusing on blame will only make it worse

how to get over a gemini: read. soak up wise words. talk to your close friends, family or a therapist if need be to purge old thoughts of that person out of your system and get clarity so you can move forward

how to get over a cancer: stop bothering them. chances are you’ve made this person very uncomfortable. it’s not just about you. avoid the person, your feelings will pass, but it will only pass if you stop seeing this person and this person will need breathing space

how to get over a leo: express yourself creatively; write, videoblog, dance…use your favourite form of expression and throw it out of your system

how to get over a virgo: analyze why the relationship happened by asking yourself some questions (and answer them honestly). what drew you this person? was it just physical attraction? was it their personality? what are the qualities you admired? is something lacking in your life? maybe you miss the way that person made you feel. can you get that feeling through your own actions, independent of that person?

how to get over a libra: look at love as a gift and continue to love others

how to get over a scorpio: acquire some much needed detachment by clearing out your mind and being open to new experiences

how to get over a sagittarius: take them as a lesson learned and change a couple of things about yourself, no pain, no gain

how to get over a capricorn: focus on your work, especially if you’re on a mission that feels right to you

how to get over an aquarius: let it happen naturally; after an event that is so painful, you start vibrating differently, you go through changes, people notice, so you attract different people

how to get over a pisces: show more appreciation for the people who do love you instead of your old partner
